What is included in the Starter plan?

Updated over a month ago

Acast’s free Starter plan is a great way to get your podcast off the ground. It includes essentials like distribution to every podcast app, a dedicated podcast website, and analytics to help you understand your show’s audience growth and performance.

What’s included

  • One podcast with up to 5 episodes with unlimited listener downloads

  • A free RSS feed

  • Recording and editing capabilities via Podcastle

  • Easily import your show from another podcast hosting platform

  • Basic, non-customizable podcast website

  • Basic non-customizable embed player

  • Advanced analytics to track performance and audience growth

You can unlock unlimited hosting and additional features by upgrading your subscription. When you upgrade, you get everything from the Starter plan plus the following:

  • Unlimited episodes and multiple podcasts

  • Audio-to-video tools from Headliner

  • Customizable podcast website and embed player

  • Dynamic intro and outros

  • Exclusive discounts for music, promotional tools, and more

There are two ways that you can unlock unlimited episodes

  • Upgrade your plan to either the Influencer (14.99/mo) or Ace ($29.99/mo) level. This allows you to gain access to extra features and unlimited hosting.

  • Open up your podcast to advertising with Acast's marketplace*. In exchange for ads being placed on your podcast from our advertisers you can keep creating episodes free of charge as well as earn money from those ads. *Subject to eligibility.

What is Acast’s Marketplace?

Acast’s Marketplace allows podcasters to earn money from their shows by connecting them with advertisers. Advertisers can either place automatic ads within your episodes or request to directly sponsor your show for a period of time. Learn more about the marketplace, how to qualify and what to expect in our article about monetizing with Acast Marketplace.

Downgrading from a paid plan to the Starter plan

If you downgrade from a paid plan to the Starter plan, all content created before downgrading will remain available on podcast platforms.

However, for shows with 5 or more episodes, no more episodes can be created.

How downgrading impacts features:

  • If you downgrade from a paid plan to the Starter plan, any settings made with these features will remain but cannot be changed, only disabled. For example, your customizable website will be locked and any intro or outro can’t be changed.

  • Once a feature is disabled, you will have to upgrade to a paid plan to enable it.

  • The same Starter plan feature limitations apply to settings made with these features before the introduction of these limits.
