Important note! This information is only relevant if you are receiving statements from Acast, not self-bills. Self-bills are paid automatically and does not need to be invoiced.
If you have received a statement document after joining our monetization program (not a document called self-bill), you'll need to send us a formal request for payment called an invoice. If you've never made an invoice before, don't worry! This guide covers the absolute basics to get you started.
The Key Parts of an Invoice
Your invoice must be clear and easy to understand. Make sure it includes these essential pieces of information:
Your Information: Your full name or your company's name, address, and contact details (email or phone).
Acast Information ("Bill To"): The official name and address of the company you are invoicing, dependant on which business address you are invoicing. It's available in the statement you have received and called "Ship to".
Statement Number: In the revenue statement received via email you will find a statement number that looks like #12345. Make sure to include this in your invoice to Acast.
⚠️ Not including the statement number may result in late payments, so please double check that you have included the number.
Invoice Issue Date: The date you are creating and sending the invoice. Please note that this is not the same thing as the due date.
⚠️ We have 60 days payment terms from when the invoice has been received.
Description of Service: A clear, simple line item explaining what the payment is for.
Example: "Revenue for [show name] September 2025"
Amount: The total amount of money you are owed. This should be broken down into a subtotal, any taxes, and the final total.

Where Can I Find a Template or Example Invoice?
You can use the existing templates that are available in tools like Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel, if you don't have access to a book keeping software. Please download or export as PDF and attach in your email to podinvoice@acast.com.
A Quick Word on Taxes (VAT/GST)
Depending on your country and how much you earn, you may be required to register for and charge a sales tax, such as VAT (Value Added Tax) or GST (Goods and Services Tax).
Tax rules vary significantly by location. It is your responsibility to understand your local tax obligations.
If you are required to charge VAT/GST, you must include your tax registration number on the invoice and add the tax amount to the total.
We strongly recommend consulting a local accountant or your country's tax authority to ensure you are handling taxes correctly.
