How to move your show from Omny to Acast

Updated over 2 weeks ago

So, you're moving to Acast. Smart move. Acast makes it so easy to move your podcast, show notes and followers with no downtime. So, let's get started.

Step 1. Sign up for an Acast account

You can see all the great options for hosting your podcast here. Choose the option that is right for you and open your account. Then, log into that account.

Step 2. Start the import of your show

The first screen you'll see on Acast is this—two BIG buttons—one of which says Import Existing Show.

If your show is already on Apple podcasts you can search for the name and it will come up from that directory. If not, you can enter your existing podcast RSS feed URL, which you can find within your Megaphone dashboard.

Redirect your feed from Omny to Acast

  • Login to Omny here

  • Select the show you want to redirect

  • Click on the Details tab

  • Select Advanced Settings

  • Tick Redirect this Playlist's podcast RSS field to a new URL and insert your new Acast RSS.

  • Click on Save Changes

Important Note: We recommend keeping your old hosting account active for at least a month.

How to check if your redirect is complete

Omny may send you a confirmation if the redirect has been done. However, you can check it's been completed yourself by inspecting your RSS feed.

Open a new browser tab and paste your old RSS URL. If the redirect has completed successfully, you should be taken automatically to your new Acast RSS feed. Note: Google Chrome in Incognito Mode is recommended for inspecting RSS feeds.

If you have any issues, feel free to contact Acast Support.
