We wanted to let you know that we’ve (i) transitioned the contractual relationships from Acast AB to local entities within the Acast group and (ii) made some updates to our Terms & Conditions to keep things clear and aligned with how Acast operates.
Change in Contracting Entity for Acast
As a follow up to the communication about changing the company from where the podcaster payouts are made, Acast is hereby transitioning contractual relationships to local entities within the Acast group.
This means that podcast contract(s) under which Acast AB is hosting, distributing and monetising your podcast content, will be transferred from Acast AB to the same local entity from which you will receive your next podcast payouts from. For the avoidance of doubt, Acast AB fully controls all local Acast entities.
Effective from receipt of this communication, the new contracting entity will be the same local Acast entity from which you will receive your next podcast payouts from (“New Contracting Entity”).
Existing Obligations: All podcast contracts currently held by Acast AB will be transferred to the relevant local entity. This entity will assume all obligations and responsibilities under the contract, including payment and performance, as if it had always been the contracting party. Updates to Terms and Conditions
We’ve made some updates to our Terms & Conditions to keep things clear and aligned with how Acast operates. Our goal is to ensure transparency while continuing to support you in growing and monetising your podcast. Here’s a quick summary of the main changes:
Refining "Net Advertising Revenue" – We've adjusted this definition to clarify how revenue is calculated, ensuring that only the amounts Acast actually receives for selling ads - after applicable taxes and partner fees—are included.
Expanding Revenue Streams – We’re refining the definition of "Net Advertising Revenue" to ensure it accurately reflects all the ways we generate revenue across platforms, including omnichannel/multichannel sales.
Access to Podcast Data – To help maximise your revenue opportunities, podcasters will need to make reasonable efforts to provide Acast access to data from platforms where we sell your ad inventory, like Apple Podcast Connect, Spotify and/or Youtube.
Trade Sanctions & Payouts – We’ve clarified that in cases where payments are blocked or delayed due to trade sanctions or legal restrictions, Acast cannot be held responsible.
Paywalled Content – If you choose to host, distribute, or monetise paywalled content (i.e. monetisation without commercial messaging), we ask that you use Acast’s preferred paywall partners. These changes help us continue providing a best-in-class platform for creators while ensuring fairness and compliance with regulations.
