Even though podcasting is an audio medium, your show's artwork is the first thing a new listener sees. If you’ve updated your cover art in Acast but the old version is still showing on Apple, here is how to fix it.
1. Use a Unique Filename
If you upload a new image to Acast but use the same filename as your old one, Apple may assume the file hasn't changed and won't download the new version. Before uploading the image to Acast, rename your file to something unique, this forces Apple to detect a change.
2. Check the Technical Specs
Apple has strict requirements. If your image doesn't meet these, it will be rejected silently:
Size: Minimum 1400 x 1400 px; Maximum 3000 x 3000 px.
Format: JPEG or PNG.
No Alpha Channels: Apple will reject images with transparency. Ensure your PNG is saved without an alpha channel or use a flat JPEG.
3. Manual Refresh in Apple Podcasts Connect
While Apple usually detects changes within 24 hours, you can manually trigger a re-scan of your Acast feed.
Log into Apple Podcasts Connect.
Select your show.
On the Show Information page, check the "Last Refreshed" timestamp.
Click the Refresh Feed button.
4. Why is my Episode Art different?
Apple now supports Individual Episode Artwork. If your main show art updated but an old episode still shows the old image, you likely need to update that specific episode's artwork within the Episodes tab in your Acast dashboard.
If your artwork hasn't updated 48 hours after using the Refresh Feed button, contact Apple Support directly, as the issue is likely a caching hang on their side that Acast cannot see.
