Here's some troubleshooting solutions when your app is suddenly stopping when you are listening to a podcast episode.

My app stops playing when I lock my screen

Is your device on battery-saving mode? If so, please turn it off.

  1. Go to your smartphone's "Settings"

  2. Click on "Apps & notifications"

  3. Click on "Advanced" (can also be called "Battery usage")

  4. Click on "Special app access"

  5. Click on "Battery optimization"

  6. Find the Acast app and make sure to disable/enable the app to play in the background

Please note that the terminology can differ between devices, but look for Apps / Battery Optimization in your Settings page.

Other possible causes

If you have tried the above steps but it's still turning off, please take a look at these

  1. Are “Notifications" allowed for the Acast app in your device Settings? If not, please allow notifications for the Acast app.

  2. Are you playing the episode with a good network connection? If you have a spotty connecting, this can cause playback issues when listening to episodes. If possible, please use a different Wi-Fi network or use cellular data instead.
