How to remove your Podcast from Apple Podcasts

Want to take your podcast down from Apple Podcasts? Here's how.

Most of the time, people are interested in getting their podcast shared more widely. But just in case you need to remove your show from the iTunes/Apple Podcasts directory—perhaps for troubleshooting, perhaps for copyright—here is how.

Deactivate through Acast

If your show was submitted directly from the Acast dashboard you can manually deactivate it. This means your show will be archived on Apple Podcasts and won’t appear to listeners.

  1. Go to your Acast Dashboard and select your show.

  2. Head to the Distribution tab.

  3. In the Apple Podcasts section, click Deactivate.

    • Why use this? It’s a "soft" removal. It tells Apple to stop showing the podcast, but it keeps your data and connection intact in the Acast dashboard if you ever want to "Reactivate" it later.

Note: This option will only be available if the show was originally submitted through the Acast dashboard. If not, please follow the steps under Request Removal from Apple below.

Request Removal from Apple

  1. Click on the Show you want to remove.

  2. On the left-hand sidebar, click Availability.

  3. Under the More Actions menu (top right), select Archive Show.

    • Note: Archiving removes the show from the Apple Podcasts directory and your analytics dashboard. If you have a paid subscription, it will also cancel those for your listeners.
